We are fully committed to reducing our carbon footprint and promoting environmental sustainability across all areas of our operations. Our goal is to operate responsibly, support a greener future, and play our part in helping the UK meet its Net Zero targets.

We believe that small, consistent actions lead to meaningful change, and we are embedding sustainability into our daily decisions, from procurement to service delivery.

2. Baseline Carbon Emissions

We have conducted an internal assessment of our current carbon emissions, identifying the key areas contributing to our environmental impact. Our baseline emissions are primarily generated from the following sources:
 

• Electricity usage in our offices and workshops

• Company vehicle travel, including stairlift installations, site surveys, and service visits

• Purchased goods and materials, such as stairlifts, hoists, spare parts, and packaging
   

This baseline serves as the foundation for setting measurable targets and tracking progress.

3. Carbon Reduction Measures

We have already taken steps to reduce emissions and promote sustainable practices across our business:
 

• Switched to energy-efficient LED lighting in all offices and workshop spaces

• Optimised travel planning for our engineering teams to minimise fuel usage and reduce unnecessary journeys

• Preferential supplier selection, giving priority to partners who share our environmental values and offer sustainable or recyclable products

• Recycling and waste reduction initiatives, including:

• Replacing plastic cups at water dispensers with biodegradable alternatives

• Ensuring appropriate recycling facilities are available in all staff areas

• Reducing single-use packaging in product deliveries where possible
   

4. Carbon Reduction Targets

To build on our progress, Liftability has set the following carbon reduction targets:
 

• Reduce total operational carbon emissions by 5% over the next 3 years, based on our current baseline

• Begin transitioning our company fleet to low-emission or electric vehicles, starting with the replacement of older models

• Increase recycling rates by 25%, through better waste segregation, staff awareness, and supplier collaboration

• Reduce packaging waste, by working with suppliers to minimise excess materials and promoting reusable or recyclable alternatives

• Explore renewable energy options, such as switching to a green electricity supplier or installing solar panels at our premises
   

5. Monitoring and Reporting

Our sustainability progress will be:
 

• Monitored annually, with carbon reduction performance reviewed by our management team

• Reported internally and externally where required (e.g. tenders, accreditations, or customer requests)

• Reviewed regularly, with our plan updated annually to reflect new opportunities, technologies, and industry best practices
   

We are also exploring carbon offsetting partnerships to complement our direct reduction efforts, ensuring we do our part both now and in the long term.
